Mike Swanson brings over 25 years of finance and accounting experience to WilliamsMarston, where he is a leader in the firm’s Finance Effectiveness service offering. He specializes in transforming finance functions by streamlining processes, eliminating inefficiencies, leveraging technology, and unlocking capacity for more strategic, value-added work.

Mike has partnered with organizations across several industries to drive operational excellence and digital finance transformation. He also offers hands-on industry expertise, having directly led the monthly Record-to-Report process—giving WilliamsMarston a rare blend of strategic insight and operational execution.

Prior to joining WilliamsMarston, Mike served as Director of Record to Report at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), where he led a global team responsible for the monthly close of ADM’s ~$100 billion agriculture business. Before ADM, Mike spent 25 years in the Finance Effectiveness practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Chicago, leading large-scale transformations for Fortune 500 companies. His work focused on optimizing global finance functions through end-to-end transformation efforts and post-M&A integration activities, with deep experience in the pharmaceutical, utilities, and automotive sectors.

Mike is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois.
