Managing Director – Accounting Advisory

Kathy Nguyen brings 15 years of accounting experience to WilliamsMarston, where she supports public and private clients in a variety of accounting issues.  She advises clients on IPO readiness, lease accounting, business combinations, discontinued operations, share-based compensation, inventory, intangible asset impairment, process improvement, and audit preparedness including SOX 404(B) compliance.

Before WilliamsMarston, Kathy spent 12 years at KPMG LLP in both the national office and audit practice.  During her time with the national office, she contributed to the Accounting Standards Group, developing training and publications on existing and upcoming U.S. GAAP topics such as revenue, inventory, and business combinations. She supported SEC reviewing partners and served public and private clients across real estate, hospitality, and retail sectors clients in both the Orlando and Los Angeles markets during her time in the audit practice. Key areas of focus include implementation of Topic 842 – Leases, business combinations, asset acquisitions, real estate valuations, impairment of nonfinancial assets, discontinued operations and held for sale classification, SOX 404 compliance, and SEC reporting.

Kathy holds a BSBA and Master’s in Accounting from the University of Central Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.
