Alec brings 12 years of corporate tax compliance, planning and advisory experience to WilliamsMarston. Since joining WilliamsMarston, Alec’s primary practice areas have included US federal and state taxation, mergers and acquisitions, international taxation, and accounting for income taxes, including financial statement disclosures, purchase accounting, valuation allowance assessments, analysis of uncertain tax positions and accounting for stock-based compensation. He has vast experience both in preparing and reviewing complex provisions for income taxes under ASC 740 and has recently served as interim tax director for a public technology company.
Prior to WilliamsMarston, Alec was in the mergers and acquisitions tax practice at KPMG LLP, where he advised private equity firms and multinational strategic acquirers on due diligence and complex tax structuring of potential acquisition targets. Prior to KPMG, Alec spent seven years in the corporate tax practice at RSM US LLP, where he rose to the level of Senior Manager. While at RSM, Alec provided corporate tax consulting and tax compliance services to both private and publicly held middle-market companies.
Alec is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and holds a Master of Science in Taxation degree from the University of Denver. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he graduated summa cum laude and was a Commonwealth Honors College Scholar with greatest distinction.
