Managing Director – Tax
Stephen brings nearly thirteen years of experience advising clients on complex tax matters, with a particular focus on corporate strategic and M&A tax planning.
Prior to joining WilliamsMarston, Stephen was a managing director in KPMG LLP’s Washington National Tax practice. While at KPMG, Stephen served as a tax technical lead on multiple engagements serving public and private companies on spin-offs, acquisitions and divestitures, debt workout/bankruptcy emergence transactions, initial public offerings, and other complex transactions. Stephen is a frequent speaker on taxation and has authored numerous articles for publication in the corporate tax space.
At WilliamsMarston, Stephen will advise clients on a broad range of tax matters, including tax structuring, tax due diligence, corporate taxation, cross-border transactions, tax modeling, tax efficient financing, consolidated group issues, and international taxation. He will also assist in structuring tax-efficient transactions, analyzing merger agreements, providing tax opinions, and navigating complex technical tax issues related to C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies.
Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Notre Dame, a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and a Masters in Taxation (LLM) from New York University School of Law.
