Managing Director – Advisory
Philip brings more than 20 years of financial consulting and executive management experience to WilliamsMarston LLC. Prior to WilliamsMarston, Philip was a Managing Director at Chord Advisors, LLC, a boutique accounting advisory firm serving more than 400 pre-IPO, public and private equity-backed growth companies on a variety of technical accounting, SEC reporting and capital markets transactions. While at Chord Advisors, Philip advised clients on a variety of complex matters including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, asset impairments and going concern matters. His broad industry expertise includes life sciences, software, aerospace & defense, retail, financial services, energy, automotive, food & beverage, entertainment, lodging, resorts & casinos, transportation, and utilities.
Prior to Chord Advisors, Philip worked at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) for nine years. While at the FASB, he worked on the FASB’s revenue recognition project, which led to the issuance of ASC 606, along with the Revenue Recognition Transition Resource Group, which helped facilitate the implementation of ASC 606. Philip also managed the outreach for the revenue project with investors to understand and provide feedback on the financial statement impact of the revenue standard across businesses and industries. He also worked on the accounting for pensions and other postretirement benefits and loss contingencies while at the FASB.
Philip started his career in EY LLP’s audit practice, spending time in both their Stamford, CT and New York City offices where he was a Manager in the Telecommunications, Media, and Entertainment practice.
Philip holds a Master in Business Administration in Finance as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fairfield University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
