Managing Director – Tax
Nancy brings more than 17 years of financial consulting and executive management experience to WilliamsMarston LLC. Prior to WilliamsMarston, Nancy was a Managing Director at Chord Advisors, LLC, a boutique accounting advisory firm serving more than 400 pre-IPO, public and private equity-backed growth companies on a variety of technical accounting, SEC reporting and capital markets transactions. While at Chord Advisors, Nancy advised clients on a variety of partnership and corporate tax matters including domestic and multi-national income tax provisions and carve-out income tax provisions for clients pursuing initial public offerings or divestitures. Her broad industry expertise includes leisure & hospitality, cryptocurrency, technology, biotechnology, and real estate.
Prior to Chord Advisors, Nancy held leadership positions within the tax function of several large publicly traded corporations. She was responsible for all aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, and strategic tax planning. She led the efforts in tax software selections and implementations, as well as advised on company-wide ERP system implementations. As the in-house tax specialist, she collaborated with various internal departments and outside consultants, liaised with external auditors and governmental agencies, as well as communicated with companies’ C-suite/Boards on financial statement implications of income tax and tax modeling.
Nancy started her public accounting career with Deloitte Tax LLP, where she spent seven years in the Business Tax Service practice in Los Angeles. While at Deloitte, she assisted both public and private clients with federal and state income tax compliance, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance with respect to tax. She also advised clients on a variety of technical tax matters.
Nancy is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. She holds a Masters of Business Taxation from the Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles.
