Kelly brings accounting and expert advisory experience to WilliamsMarston. Prior to WilliamsMarston, Kelly was a Managing Director at Chord Advisors, LLC, a boutique accounting advisory firm serving more than 400 pre-IPO, public and private equity-backed growth companies on a variety of technical accounting, SEC reporting and capital markets transactions. While at Chord Advisors, Kelly specialized in initial public offerings, SEC reporting, business combinations, equity financings, revenue recognition, and Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (“SPAC’s”). Her broad industry expertise includes pharmaceuticals, life sciences, cryptocurrency, financial services and technology.
Prior to Chord Advisors, Kelly was the Vice President of Accounting and Corporate Controller for a private equity-backed consumer services business in the wellness industry. In this role, she was responsible for technical accounting and financial reporting matters including business combinations, debt financings, stock-based compensation and the implementation of new accounting standards, including the new revenue and lease standards. Prior to this role, Kelly held several internal finance roles with increasing responsibility at public companies in the pharmaceutical, IT services and financial services industries where she was responsible for SEC reporting, technical accounting, audit readiness and various finance operations matters. Kelly began her career in the audit practice of KPMG LLP where she worked with clients in the insurance and financial services industries.
Kelly holds a Master of Arts in Accounting from the University of Iowa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Knox College.
