Valuation Consultant

The Opportunity

As a member of the Valuation Team, you will provide valuation services to Fortune 500 companies, venture capital-backed startups, and private equity firms operating in the life sciences and technology industries. This fast-paced environment will challenge your intellectual and analytical skills, giving you the opportunity to work directly with senior professionals to learn valuation techniques through direct, hands-on experience – accelerating your own career in the process. In this role, you will:

  • Execute business valuations for mergers/acquisitions, financing rounds, charitable contributions, estate and gift taxes, and incentive stock option programs
  • Build financial models, applying discounted cash flow, guideline public company, and guideline transaction valuation methodologies; and performing financial analyses
  • Research industry, market, and economic data
  • Write comprehensive reports describing companies, industries, and valuation methods
  • Verify accuracy of models and reports built by other team members
  • Participate in client meetings and assist with project scope, discussing conclusions with the Team, clients, and client auditors
  • Additional ad-hoc duties and responsibilities related to the valuations and project processes

 

The Candidate

 Highly motivated, with a track record of accomplishments, committed to contributing to the growth and future success of our firm. Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Mathematics, with a record of academic achievement
  • 1 – 5 years of valuation experience, preferably at a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality client service
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple deadlines
  • Understanding of applications and database tools, such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, KTMine, etc.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, including occasional overnight travel
